Celebrity Esports has met their match with former Dragons Den star, Richard Farleigh announcing his involvement both as an investor and the new Chairman of CES.
The Australian investor is best known in Britain for having been on the panel of the cult TV show Dragons Den, where he famously backed Levi Roots and Reggae Reggae sauce. His investment successes have been far reaching, and include Net-a-Porter and the exclusive private member club, Home House amongst many others.
Speaking to Richard about why he has backed CES as an investor and Chairman, he said “esports has seen explosive growth and is now rivalling music and movies combined as a form of entertainment, but to people unfamiliar with esports it can seem unappealing. Celebrity Esports appealed hugely because it is bringing gaming to a much wider audience in a fun, inclusive and light-hearted way that can be enjoyed by the whole family”.
Richard Farleigh couldn’t share with us exactly which celebrities would be involved in the first series, as the line ups and teams are yet to be announced. However, we are told to “expect some BIG names, from sports personalities, the music industry, and TV as well as from the gaming community”.
