Celebrity Esports are teaming up with the charity YoungMinds to help young people to have a more positive time gaming.

For young people, gaming can be so much more than just a game. Gaming can play a positive role in many people’s mental wellbeing. It’s a place to relax, hang out, develop skills and feel part of a community – allowing young people to connect with others who are going through the same things they are. That’s why we have teamed up with YoungMinds to launch ‘More Than A Game’. The campaign invites young people to join together and use the gaming community as a platform to connect, share experiences, take control of how they game and build confidence. Whilst busting a few myths along the way. So, let’s log on, hang out and join together for a more positive time online.

“Just like social media, there can be positives and negatives to gaming. It can give us a space to unwind, relax and take time out from the pressures of daily life – just like reading can, or going for a walk. The young people we work with tell us that it can be a sociable way to have fun and stay connected with their friends and family and it can give them a sense of achievement as they learn new skills”

Tom Madders, Director of Campaigns at YoungMinds

“We are thrilled to welcome YoungMinds to the Celebrity Esports family. Through the partnership we want to raise awareness of the fantastic work YoungMinds do and highlight to the masses that gaming can and should be used as a platform for people to connect, share experiences and have fun!”
